A little bit about us
Kate Marengo
Founder, President and Designer
Kate founded Arranging Order (Interior Chicago's predecessor) in 2009. in 2015 Interior Chicago was rebranded as we shift focus from organizing to orderly design.
She received her Masters of Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago in 2007, with an emphasis on visual arts.
Inspired by unique spaces that reflect one's personality, she feels most rewarded by helping her clients feel great about their space. She also has a keen love affair with work by Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Sullivan.
Kate lives in Chicago with her husband, daughter, dog, and two kitties.
Claire Gillman
Project Manager & Designer
Claire graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan with degrees in Fashion Merchandising and Advertising and Marketing Communications.
Her background is in visual merchandising and project management. She brings her knowledge of fabrics and color trends to her interior designs. Having decorated varied spaces, from small Manhattan studios to single family homes, Claire has experience using space wisely to create practical, organized homes.
When not designing, you can find Claire exploring the city or dancing away at a concert!

Interior Chicago is based in Chicago, IL and provides in-home services to Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
Not in Chicago? No problem. We assist individuals and businesses with their interior-decorating needs anywhere! We just need a little more work from you to make the magic happen.
How it Works
Interior Chicago offers free, introductory in-home consultations for Chicago-area clients, during which we’ll get acquainted with you and your needs and answer questions.
Upon hire, we'll compile a custom design plan that’s tailored to your aesthetic and budget and deliver via email within 2-3 weeks. From there, we’re available to support, implement and answer questions as much or as little as you’d like.
Process
Should you want to move forward with us after this consultation, we put together an email detailing our proposed action place. Once you've given us the go ahead to start - we put together your plan and deliver it to you by email within 2-3 weeks.
Policies
Free, one-time consultations are offered for new customers only; consultations running more than an hour will be charged at an on-site rate of $135/hour.
Billing occurs on the 1st of the month for the previous month's work.
Payment must be received by the 15th of each month, or a $50 late fee will be assessed.
Payment for professional organizing is due at the end of the organizing session unless otherwise pre-arranged.
